Southern Railway To Operate COVID Special Train From Coimbatore To Mayiladuthurai

Southern Railways have decided to operate COVID19 Special Trains from Coimbatore To Mayiladuthurai on daily basis effective 1st June ‘20 till further notice. The train services from Coimbatore to Different Parts of India was halted on 23rd May 20 as per the instructions of Honourable Prime Minister of India as part of COVID19 Prevention Lockdown.

The honourable prime minister of India took a very good choice of introducing lockdown in all of India as this has enabled India being one of the country with lower COVID19 patients and also decreasing mortality of the country.

The southern railways has introduced the special service after getting necessary approvals with awareness of state government. The special train will be operated from Coimbatore Junction with added stopping at Tirupur Erode Karur Tiruchirapalli Thanjavur Kumbakonam before arriving at Mayiladuthurai.

The train will depart from Coimbatore Junction at 7.10 am and arrive at Mayiladuthurai 1.40 PM, the train depart back at 2.50 PM arrive at Coimbatore at 9.15 pm.

The train consists of 2 Jan Shatabdi AC Chair Cars, 12 Jan Shatabdi Non AC second class and 2 Jan Shatabdi Second Class Cum Break Vans. The train no allocated for the schedule is 02084 to Mayiladuthurai and 02083 to Coimbatore.

The special train service is not available on Tuesday’s, for booking you can visit irctc.co.in or visit the ticketing centre at railways station.
