KSRTC Recommends New Route For Bangalore to Ooty Reduce Travel By 1 Hour 30 Minutes

Bangalore, Bengaluru, KSRTC – Karnataka, Mysuru, Ooty, Public Information

KSRTC ( Karnataka Road Transport Corporation ) operates daily bus services to Bangalore to Ooty via Mysore at present. In order to reduce the travel time from 8 hours and 30 minutes to 7 hours by avoiding hilly terrain and travel in plains.

The present route operates by KSRTC and TNSTC are via Najangudu, Gundulpet, Bandipur and Gudalur. KSRTC have recommended another route via Bengaluru, Hosur, Krishnagiri, Thoppur, Anthiyur, Sathyamangalam, Mettupalayam and Ooty.

The total distance with present route operated via Bandipur is 310 km, while as proposed route is 350 km. The benefit with proposal is more services can be operated to Ooty as the new proposed route doesn’t require permissions from Forest department.

The new route proposed by KSRTC will take place only if both states agree to same terms. The ghat section is very minimal and roads are wide across the travel, the new propose route can save fuel due to accelerating and deceleration avoided at ghar section.
