SETC operates 2 bus services from Trivandrum to Velankanni via Marthandam, Nagercoil, Tirunelveli. The bus operated by SETC is a 2*2 semi sleeper non- ac bus traveling most of the distance in express highways of tamilnadu and a very limited distance in the state of Kerala.
Two buses are allocated to the destination one from Trivandrum and another Velankanni in the same day. The bus body in ashok leyland engine chasis. There is a recommendation from the people to introduce AC buses for long distance travel and buses are getting increased for serving the commuters.
SETC is a premium bus service operated by Government of Tamilnadu (Department of Transport) and is a subsidiary of TNSTC. SETC operates long distance buses and TNSTC operates distance upto 400 kilometres.
There are two buses that depart from Trivandrum to Velankanni via Thanjavur and Tuticorin. The bus via Thanjavur departs at 4.30 pm and via Tuticorin departs at 5.30 pm.

The passengers can visit m.tnstc.in via mobile and www.tnstc.in via laptop. The passengers can also visit computerized reservation centre of SETC for booking.
Greetings to SETC. I take SETC service while commuting to Vaillankani because the time suits my purpose. I appreciate its punctuality. But would suggest for such long distance travel please consider to introduce better buses with good and clean seating. If you introduce a/c buses definitely many passengers would prefer that.
My last trip Trivandrum to Veilankanni was on Sept. 15th 2017 and returned on 17th evening 4.35pm bus. Both the buses the sliding windows were stuck. seats very poor and so much of discomfort faced in sitting throughout the journey which I feel all could be taken into care where there are lots of passengers prefer SETC service.
Looking forward for a better understanding and improved service from SETC very soon.
