State Express Transport Corporation operates daily bus services from Chennai to Salem via Tindivanam, Viluppuram, Kallakurichi. SETC operates daily 2 bus services from Salem to Chennai to Salem with Volvo buses recently added fleets.
The first bus service will depart from Chennai at 11:00 am and arrive same day evening at 5:00 pm, the travel time during the day service will be 6 hours covering a distance of 323 kilometres.
The second bus service will depart from Chennai Kilambakkam KCBT at 11:00 pm and arrive in Salem next day morning at 5:00 am.
The bus service will have amenities such as pushback seats with leg rest, mobile charging ports, reading lamps and sliding curtains.
