SETC Buses Granted Permission To Operate On Contract Basis

State Express Transport Corporation subsidiary of Tamilnadu State Road Transport Corporation have been given a go ahead for operating buses in zone and mountain territories on basis of contract.

The buses will be available to be operated of Ultra Deluxe and Non AC Seater Cum Sleeper Services. The bus services will be operated inside the 8 zones, for outside Zones transport the party should provide relevant documents from the authorities for operating the buses on contract basis.

The bus services operated by SETC will be charged at nominal in plains areas at Rs. 45 and mountain territories at Rs. 55. As per the sources, SETC managing director Mr. Elangovan have given oral direction to SETC branch offices.

E-Pass is mandatory for all the passengers traveling out of one zone to another zone. Private companies and Administrative Manager can also utilise the contract services from SETC.

TNSTC have resumed its operations of 1-Jun-20, SETC and Chennai MTC are yet to begin there operations in Tamilnadu. At present only 50% of the buses are operated by TNSTC with 60% seating permissible.
