As per the circular released by Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Edappadi P Palaniswami, the railway service in Tamilnadu will be resumed after or on September 15 2020. At present inter state services operated by Railways will be as approved by Government of Tamilnadu.
The inter state service at present operated by railways is between Chennai and New Delhi Rajdhani Express. The intra state service is suspended in state as per the official letter from Government of Tamilnadu in order to reduce the spread of COVID19 Pandemic.
TNSTC SETC MTC Gearing Up Fleets To Operate From September 1 2020 for operations in Intra District services, Chennai Metropolitan services will operate in Chennai. The intra district services will not be applicable in Chennai, Tiruvarur, Chengalpet.
The bus services in the state when resuming on 1st September will be having standard operation procedures in places to avoid spread of COVID19 pandemic.
Chennai Metro Rail Limited will be resuming the metro train operations in the city by 8th September 2020 but MRTS suburban services will be suspended till further notice.
