Special Trains To Operate From 7th September In Intra State Routes Proposed By Tamilnadu Government

The state government of Tamilnadu have requested the railways to operate intra state special train services with effect from September 7th 2020. The service operated by southern railways will be classifieds as special trains.

There will be 6 overnight train services that will be resuming operations from Chennai to Coimbatore , Madurai, Thoothukudi, Sengottah, Mettupalayam and Kanyakumari.

Acting on request from state government, railways have proposed the below train service to be operated in the state.

• Chennai – Madurai Pandiyan Express
• Chennai – Kanniyakumari Express
• Chennai – Thoothukudi Pearl City Express
• Chennai – Coimbatore Cheran Express
• Chennai – Mettupalayam Nilagiri Express
• Chennai – Sengottai Silambu Express
