State express transport corporation operates bus services to Ernakulam from Chennai via Villupuram, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur. The bus service is used by the people of Kerala and Tamilnadu. SETC is the only state owned corporation operating the route and Kerala State Road Transport Corporation does not operate in this route.
The bus service uses an Ashok Leyland bus chassis with Air Suspension and Pushback seats comfort. Previously buses in the sector used to operate with TV at present as per Motor Vehicles Department rule the TV set is removed from the bus. [continue reading…]

Dear Readers,
Please find below the Chennai Salem Bus Timing or Schedule of SETC Ultra Deluxe Non AC and AC. The schedule mentioned below start from CMBT and reach Salem Central Bus stand.
The passengers can reserve their seats by visiting online portal www.tnstc.in . Seats could be reserve by visiting SETC computerised reservation centre.
The schedule is bifurcate into 4 routes namely 422UD regular rider, H422 highway rider, A422 steel city express and 422 AC air condition ride. The journey fare for schedule is Rs.240 and travel time is 6 hours 30 minutes. Journey fare mention is excluding reservation charges.

SETC operates two buses from Chennai to Coimbatore departing from Chennai Moffusil Bus Terminus situated at Koyamedu and arrive at Coimbature Gandhipuram SETC Bus Stand. The bus doesnt have any other dropping points except one pick up point for 9pm starting bus at Perungalathur outskirts of Chennai.
The air conditioned bus is made in ashok leyland chasis by private bus builders in Bangalore. The buses were initially was launched as a Trial Run with one bus and seeing the patronage of the service by people, one more bus inducted to start at 10 pm.
The bus travels through express highways and does not have any stops in between except for dinner break is added advantage so the passengers can reach the point in time. The buses are fitted speed governors rated at max speed of 80 km/hour inorder to avoid any untoward incidents.
The below is timetable of SETC operated AC buses from CMBT, there might be change in arrival time depends on the nature.
