Chennai, October 10, 2025:
In view of the upcoming Diwali festival, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) and State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) have announced extensive special bus services to manage the heavy festive rush of passengers traveling to their hometowns across Tamil Nadu.

According to the official announcement by Managing Director Thiru K. Sarathan, special bus services will be operated from October 16 to 23, 2025, in addition to regular schedules. These services are aimed at ensuring comfortable, safe, and timely travel for passengers heading to southern, western, and delta districts of Tamil Nadu.
Special Bus Operations Plan
Advance departure services:
Special buses will operate from major Chennai terminals (Koyambedu, Tambaram, Madhavaram, Poonamallee, and Broadway) to various destinations across Tamil Nadu from October 16 to 20, 2025.
Return trip services:
Buses from southern and western districts will bring passengers back to Chennai on October 21, 22, and 23, 2025.

To avoid last-minute inconvenience, passengers are encouraged to book early and arrive at least 30 minutes before departure at the bus terminal.

Government’s Commitment to Public Convenience
Speaking on the occasion, Thiru K. Sarathan, Managing Director, TNSTC, stated:
“Passengers are requested to make use of the advance booking facility available through the TNSTC website and mobile app. This initiative is aimed at providing seamless and efficient service to all travelers returning home for the festive season.”
He added that no passengers should face hardship during Diwali, and the government has taken all measures to provide sufficient additional services from key districts including Madurai, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Nagercoil, Thanjavur, and Salem.
