Chennai MTC To Inaugurate New Non AC Low Floor Buses Soon

Chennai Metropolitan Transport Corporation is a government owned bus operating organization under the government of Tamilnadu in India. The two buses are inducted from Ashok Leyland , a premium bus manufacturers from home grown India, the bus inducted for passenger transport is a rear engine bus designed to cater the urban public of Chennai. The coach is made as per the low floor standards, previously MTC owned Volvo Low Floor Buses for passenger transport and its first time Chennai MTC is introducing the low floor variant in non AC segment with colaboration of Ashok Leyland. Chennai MTC has prior experience in operating the Semi Floor Buses in Chennai with Ashok Leyland and Tata Chassis.

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) in Chennai operates the city’s extensive bus network, covering over 800 routes and serving millions daily. It provides affordable and accessible transportation, connecting Chennai’s urban and suburban areas. MTC continuously upgrades its fleet with modern, eco-friendly buses, enhancing commuter comfort and reducing environmental impact.
