The bus transportation in the state of Tamilnadu has resumed from 1st September 2020, the services operated through Puducherry were in a standstill due to restrictions imposed by the Government of Puducherry. Due to the restriction in transit government officials from the state of Tamilnadu and Puducherry have met and discussed the transit issue of buses. As per the discussion between the officials, the Puducherry government has given a go-ahead for the transit of buses from Tamilnadu to pass through.
In Tamilnadu, the public transit has been restored in between the districts from 7th September 2020, there were hassles in operating bus services due to restriction via Puducherry. A bus operated by Tamilnadu to be operated through Puducherry an agreement to be signed by the officials as per the rules.
The bus services from Chennai to Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Mayildathudurai will be operated via Puducherry, but there will be no stopping and boarding points will be available en route in Puducherry.
The bus services from Puducherry to other states are in a standstill as it awaits the nod from Central Government to operate the services. At present, the services operated by the Puducherry Government are inside the territories of Puducherry.
