The bus service is operated after an agreement signed between Tamilnadu and Andhrapradesh Transport Departments. The bus service is operated via Gudiyatham, Ambur and Tirupathur.
The route no. is tagged as 849 UD and covers a distance of 315 kilometers within 8 hours. Kindly note the timing mentioned may vary due to traffic and road conditions.
The bus service is timed at 9:30 am, 8:30 pm, 9:30 pm, 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm. The passengers can board the bus at Salem New Bus Stand to board the bus.
The bus ticket fare is Rupees 295 (two hundred and ninety five excluding service charges & reservation charges)

State Express Transport Corporation operates bus service from Chennai to Changanassery via Kottayam. The bus service is premium bus service operated from Chennai CMBT via Trichy, Madurai, Kumali, Vandi periyar, Kottayam reaches its final destination Changanassery.
The bus service have boarding points at Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus, Perungalathur, Mahindra City and Villupuram. The bus service is majorly used by people of Tamilnadu and Kerala. SETC. the state owned premium transport organisation of Tamilnadu operates buses to Pamba from Chennai on the festival season of Sabarimala. Velakanni to Chennai of Nagapatinam Depot does the special service for the season.
SETC regularly operates the buses from Chennai and other parts of state to Pamba during the pilgrimage season. We have spotted bus departing to Pamba at CMBT.
