Transport Department Approves Launch of Private Mini Buses In Chennai – Tamilnadu Government – Is it  a Carbon Reduction Initiative

Tamilnadu Transport Department has announced that the approval is given to operate Private Mini Buses in Chennai, at present the Chennai City Services are operated by Chennai Metro Transport Corporation, a government owned bus transport corporation.

The new initiative will be launched stage by stage, the government transport department will provide permits with effect from February, the private mini buses will operate in Sholinganalur, Alandur, Ambattur, Valarsavakkam Bus Stands.

The new initiative by the government could reduce the traffic congestion in the route and public reducing the own transport so reducing the carbon emission.

The mini buses can also increase the employment of drivers, conductors and other staffs required.
