At present the services operated through congested routes are of standard town buses and mini buses. Chennai MTC could increase the fleet of AC or Non AC Mini buses operated in the congested routes of Chennai City.

The present fleet of mini bus operated by Chennai’s MTC is manufactured by private builders in AL / Tata Chassis. The increase in mini bus fleet across congested routes can improve the revenue of Chennai MTC and cut cost of diesel due accelerating/ decelerating in congested roads.
AC buses could be a hit among the IT professionals connecting DLF and ashok Pillar / Guindy metro stations. At present dependency of share autos are on large due to faster transit due to compatibility in congested roads and easily pass through.
