SETC every year operates daily bus services to Sabarimala Pamba every year during the Sabarimala temple pilgrimage. SETC operates the services from Various District Headquarters and Capital City Chennai.

SETC has separate hub at Sabarimala during the festive season and mobile workshop for buses operating to Sabarimala from Various Places of Tamilnadu.

The travel time from Chennai to Sabarimala Pamba is 16 hours including the breaks covering a distance of 717 kilometres. The fare for the service from Chennai to Sabarimala is yet to be finalised.

Chennai To Sabarimala Pamba is generally operated from 15th November every year, due to public transport services from 23rd March 2020 the services have been stopped temporarily that has been restarted from 1st December 2021.

The Pamba River (also called Pampa river) is the third longest river in the South Indian state of Kerala after Periyar and Bharathappuzha and the longest river in the erstwhile princely state of Travancore. Sabarimala temple dedicated to Lord Ayyappa is located on the banks of the river Pamba. in old Hindu Epics, Pampa was Lord Brahma’s daughter, who was later married to Lord Shiva.

Sabarimala is a Hindu pilgrimage centre located at the Periyar Tiger Reserve in the Western Ghat mountain ranges of Pathanamthitta District, Perunad grama panchayat in Kerala. It is one of the largest annual pilgrimages in the world with an estimated 45-50 million devotees visiting every year.Ayyappan’s temple is situated amidst 18 hills. The temple is situated on a hilltop at an altitude of 1260 m (4,133 ft) above mean sea level, and is surrounded by mountains and dense forests. The dense forest, (Periyar Tiger Reserve), around the temple is known as Poongavanam. Temples exist in each of the hills surrounding Sabarimala. While functional and intact temples exist at many places in the surrounding areas like Nilakkal, Kalaketty, and Karimala remnants of old temples survive to this day on remaining hills.
