Rameswaram Express On Pamban Bridge at 15km/hr

We are sharing you the footage of Rameswaram Express passing through Pamban Bridge at a speed of 15km/hr. The railways have clearly instructed the pilots not to exceed the said the bridge as it can cause disturbance in the tracks leading to derailment.

The 2.3 KM long bridge built over the sea was opened for traffic in 1914 and use to run in Meter Gauge. The line was converted to Broad Gauge in 2007. The Pamban Bridge which connects the Main land to the Island of Rameswaram in India.
