TNSTC Driver Diagnosed With COVID19 Conductor Quarantined On 1-Jun-20

TNSTC have resumed the bus operations in Tamilnadu at Eight Zones on 1st June 20 as part of lockdown 5.0 Phase 1 Unlock. In a very sad event, a TNSTC driver belonging to Tiruvanamalai Depot was diagnosed with Corona Virus. The driver was unwell for past 3 days and driver has undergone clinical test for COVID19. The results for COVID19 came on 1-Jun-20, meanwhile driver was on trip from Tiruvanamalai to Panruti.

TNSTC Officials and Health Departments are creating a track where the driver have interacted Officials and Public, the conductor traveled with driver is placed in quarantine for 14 days. At present TNSTC operates 50% of the buses in Tamilnadu with 60% seating filled and passengers are not allowed to enlighten far beyond threshold.

In Certain Places, the conductors and drivers are unable to control the crowd as the passengers flout the social distancing norms shared by Department of Transport and Government of Tamilnadu.

The operational or bus timing during COVID19 will be from 6 am to 9 pm on daily basis till further notice, at present no services are operated by SETC and MTC. There will be no operations of Public Transportation from 9 pm to 6 am. The cabs are allowed to fetch 2 passengers and autos are allowed to fetch 2 passengers effective 1st June 20. Its mandatory to wear masks at all times for safety of public and yourself.
