Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami have announced the public transportation service will be restored post 1st August 20 but there is clause. The decision for restoration of bus services will be taken only post discussing with high panel medical experts.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will be chairing the meeting with medical experts and ministers. The central government have removed restrictions of night travel as the movement of traffics can be eased and public transportation could operate the buses in night also.
TNSTC have prior started bus operations from 1st June 2020 as the COVID19 spreads were increased due to transportation, services were stopped by end of June 2020, at present services is on hold as per government order till 31st July 2020.
Special Trains operated inside Tamilnadu have been stopped due to spread of COVID19 in the state and spreading to rural areas. As per press release shared, as per letter from Principal Secretary Tamilnadu Government, Southern Railways has stopped operations in the state till 31st July 2020.
Chennai Metro Rail is still in standstill as per direction of Central Government, Metro Rail and Suburban trains are in standstill due to COVID19 lockdown restrictions with effect from 29th March 20.
