Public Transportation Not To Resume After May 3rd 2020 In Tamilnadu Till Further Notice

Department of Transport Tamilnadu have not announced the resuming of operation for state owned or private owned buses post May 3rd 2020. At present the honourable Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi have announced an extension of COVID19 lockdown for two more weeks till 17th May 20.

It’s expected there is no sudden resuming of services at Chennai except for emergency personnel fleets operated by TNSTC SETC and MTC. At present there is no communique regarding operational resuming of Inter State services to Karnataka, Kerala and Andhrapradesh.

As the COVID19 spread is higher compared to other days and raise in hotspots could be a reason for delay in restoration of public transportation facility.

As per GO of Tamilnadu, During Ministerial Meeting, Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Edapadi K Palaniswami have announced that present restrictions in transport sector will continue till further notice. ( Dated 2- May-20)
